Abstract
This collection of papers and posters presented at the second 'Preserving Archaeological Remains in situ?' (PARIS2) conference which set out to address three main themes: to review recent research; to examine the relative successes and consequences of decisions – especially those taken in the last decade or so – to preserve particular sites in situ; and to try to identify strategic directions for future research into the protection of our cultural heritage. The 37 contributions in these conference proceedings form a comprehensive collection of some of the key issues facing researchers and historic environment managers today, and are an important reference work for the protection of the historic environment tomorrow.
